Xbox is reportedly preparing another major round of layoffs, with The Information reporting that hundreds of additional employees could lose their jobs this week.
The report also claims Xbox plans to consolidate several of its game studios as new CEO Asha Sharma continues restructuring Microsoft’s gaming business. Exactly which studios will be affected hasn’t been confirmed, but VGC notes the changes could involve Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, Activision and Blizzard.
This follows the major Xbox restructuring earlier this year, which included thousands of planned job cuts and significant changes across Microsoft’s first-party studios.
In this video, I break down what’s actually being reported, what remains speculation, and what this could mean for Xbox’s studios going forward.
