“Microsoft Is Adding A New Energy Usage Menu For Your Xbox. Now, Microsoft is making yet another improvement in the form of a brand-new menu screen for “power options”, which renames “energy saver” and “standby” to “shut-down” and “sleep” respectively, and also now indicates how much power your console will use while turned off (depending on the power option you’ve chosen). As always, this new energy saving feature is rolling out first to members of the Xbox Insider program, but it probably won’t be too long until it rolls out to the wider public as well.
Back in early September, we published a report about how important “energy saver” (or “shut-down”) mode could be for your bills in the long run, as it uses around 26 times less energy than the “standby” (or “sleep”) mode right now:”

“Rocksteady Dev Calls Xbox Series S a ‘Potato’ While Defending Gotham Knights at 30 FPS. The latest gaming industry controversy suddenly exploded a few days ago when Gotham Knights developer WB Games Montréal confirmed that the game would only run at 30 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X. A fellow developer from Rocksteady (the Batman: Arkham studio, which is also under the WB Games umbrella), Senior Character Technical Artist Lee Devonald, tried defending the Gotham Knights makers with a series of tweets that ended up inflaming the situation even further. He pointed out that the Xbox Series S is not much better than the Xbox One consoles and may be the culprit.”

Razer has officially introduced the Razer Edge, a portable Android gaming console primarily designed for streaming games from the cloud via Xbox Cloud Gaming or NVIDIA GeForce Now. In addition, the Razer Edge supports up to 144 frames per second via the Steam Link application when streaming PC games over a local network. The design of the game console is made in the manner of the Nintendo Switch, with the ability to detach the 6.8-inch tablet from the base with controllers. The latest is the standalone Razer Kishi V2 Pro, which can be used with smartphones and supports haptics, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. This gamepad will not be available separately yet and will only be bundled with the Edge.”

“Studios will reportedly get access to devkits for mid-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X updates by the end of the year. Sony and Microsoft are reportedly sending out dev kits for a new PS5 and Xbox Series X mid-gen upgrade to a number of AAA studios.
As revealed by Rockstar insider Tez2 on the GTA Forums(opens in new tab), “most AAA studios should have received the dev kits of mid-life upgrades or should receive them by the start of the new year.” This comment was said in response to another user who theorized that a new “slim version” of the PS5 could release alongside GTA 6. When asked if news of the dev kits was more of a prediction or known for sure, Tez2 replied “For sure.”
